## TL;DR

- **Identity**: Built GK One Identity, the single sign-on for a Jamaican bank's apps: the OAuth 2.1 server in .NET 10 and the login in Next.js + React 19.
- **Flutter**: Built the Entra ID sign-in with biometrics, the GK ID app launcher and Home V2 in the same bank's app, with 1,600+ commits since 2021. At Accentio, built Arka's live GPS maps with a geofence editor and the gamified Chinese lessons of El Camino del Dragón.
- **Networking**: Built Kanpachi alone, a private LAN for playing games with friends from an invite code, no router ports to open: the Go daemon, a Rust engine over EasyTier and the Windows client in Flutter.
- **Offline**: Made Bohemian Gym save every set on the device and restore the session from a snapshot when the phone dies mid-workout.
- **Research**: Led the research and the Lean UX redesign of Easi's pharma software: each task took 30% less time.
- **Agentic AI**: Built EXA Home, a voice assistant with a local wake word that controls Home Assistant: agents with shared memory, custom MCP servers and LLM routing.
- **+8 years**: taking software full cycle, from discovery to production, in React, Flutter, NestJS, .NET, Go and edge devices.

## Summary

Alvaro Gabriel Gomez is a senior full-cycle engineer with 8+ years shipping production software in React / Next.js, Flutter, NestJS and .NET. He owns a product's whole lifecycle: discovery and UX, architecture, full-stack code, automated tests, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, release and operation in production. He works as the only developer or as tech lead of a small team.

For a Jamaican bank he built GK One Identity, its single sign-on: a Next.js + React 19 login and account portal, a React admin and a .NET 10 OAuth 2.1 / OpenID Connect server. He built Kanpachi alone, a peer-to-peer gaming LAN in Go, Rust and Flutter, and leads Accentio teams on EdTech and fitness products. He has shipped for teams in Jamaica, Brazil, Panama, Spain and Chile, across fintech, IoT telemetry, EdTech and AI automation.

## Projects

### Kanpachi

Product Initiative · 2026 – Present · International

Tags: Gaming, P2P networking, Go, Rust, Flutter Desktop, Open source

Kanpachi is a private virtual LAN for playing games with friends: the spiritual successor to Hamachi. A WireGuard-encrypted peer-to-peer tunnel connects the room; the virtual adapter stays closed, opening only the chosen game's ports, only on the host, only toward members present. No accounts, no telemetry, no port forwarding. Free software under AGPL-3.0, in three languages: Flutter UI, Go binaries and CLI, Rust tunnel engine.

Highlights:

- **Private virtual LAN for gaming**: Built a private virtual LAN for playing games with friends: a WireGuard-encrypted peer-to-peer tunnel, no accounts, no router changes.
  - Keywords: WireGuard, P2P, Networking
- **Default-closed firewall per game**: Implemented a default-closed firewall policy that opens only the chosen game's ports, only on the host machine, and only toward the members currently in the room.
  - Keywords: Firewall, Security
- **Windows daemon in Go**: Wrote the Windows daemon in Go, handling the virtual adapter, firewall rules, the local API, and network engine supervision.
  - Keywords: Go, Windows Service, Wintun
- **Unprivileged Flutter desktop app**: Developed the unprivileged Flutter desktop app that talks to the daemon over a token-authenticated named pipe.
  - Keywords: Flutter Desktop, Named pipe
- **Rust engine over EasyTier**: Built kanpachi-engine in Rust, linking EasyTier as a library so its unauthenticated administration portal is unreachable by construction.
  - Keywords: Rust, EasyTier
- **Rendezvous seed with invite codes**: Shipped the rendezvous seed in Go, with a one-line Linux installer, invite code resolution, and an invitation page served by the binary itself.
  - Keywords: Go, Linux, systemd

Details:

- **Three languages, four binaries**: Split the product across three languages by what each does best: Flutter for the desktop window, Go for every binary (client, daemon, seed), Rust for the tunnel engine, built on a pinned fork of EasyTier instead of its official binary. That binary opens an unauthenticated admin portal on 0.0.0.0:15888, reachable by any local process; linking the library keeps the portal out of the build.
  - Impact: 0 listening sockets in the engine, against 0.0.0.0:15888 open in easytier-core, across 3 languages and 4 binaries (kanpachi, kanpachid, kanpseed, kanpachi-engine)
  - Keywords: Flutter, Go, Rust, EasyTier
- **Security model with zero allow rules**: Designed the security model around a virtual adapter born without a single allow rule. Every opening is explicit, per game profile, toward the IPs of members present, recomputed whenever somebody joins, leaves, or switches games.
  - Impact: The FirewallRule type has no way to express 'any'
  - Keywords: Firewall, Security
- **Privileged daemon split from the window**: Split the privileged daemon from the window: the Windows service runs as LocalSystem and holds the room, the Flutter app has no privileges. Closing the window keeps the room open; playing never asks for administrator again.
  - Impact: 1 UAC prompt in the whole life of the product, at install
  - Keywords: Windows Service, UAC
- **Tested game profile catalog**: Built the JSON game profile catalog (ports, LAN discovery, executable verification) so nobody has to know Project Zomboid speaks UDP 16261-16262. Some ports, starting with 445 and 3389, no profile can ever request.
  - Impact: 11 game profiles, each tested in a real match
  - Keywords: JSON, Game profiles
- **Windows and Debian packaging**: Packaged both platforms: an Inno Setup installer for Windows, a Debian package for Ubuntu 22.04+, systemd units, and a quarantine that keeps SMB, RDP, and remote management closed from the internet even while Kanpachi is stopped.
  - Impact: Windows installer, .deb package, 3 release workflows on GitHub Actions
  - Keywords: Inno Setup, Debian, systemd, GitHub Actions
- **346 MB memory leak closed**: Hunted memory leaks in the production daemon: every read of the Windows firewall store left its enumerator behind, holding a snapshot of every rule on the machine. Six cycles of opening and closing a room took the process from 80 MB to 426 MB with no way back.
  - Impact: 346 MB leaked over 6 room cycles, closed
  - Keywords: Go, Windows Firewall API, Memory leak
- **Six releases after launch**: Kept shipping after launch: v0.7.0 through v0.7.5 persisted the member list so a restarted host can still kick people, showed measured round-trip time per member, and redirected container traffic to games listening on loopback.
  - Impact: 6 releases and 61 commits after v0.6.8
  - Keywords: Go, Releases

Key results:

- v0.7.5 shipped with a Windows installer and a Debian package, 535 commits since July 2026
- Default-closed exposure: 11 game profiles, rules recomputed per present member, zero ports opened on the router
- Own Rust engine with 0 listening sockets, against the unauthenticated admin portal in EasyTier's official binary
- Whole product built solo across 3 languages, 4 binaries, 2 repositories: Flutter UI, Go client/daemon/seed, Rust engine
- 819 Go tests and 114 Flutter tests cover the daemon, the seed and the desktop UI

Stack: Flutter Desktop, Go, Rust, EasyTier, WireGuard, Wintun, Windows Service, Windows Firewall API, systemd, nftables, Debian, Inno Setup, Docker, GitHub Actions, AGPL-3.0

### Bohemian Gym

Product Initiative · 2024 – Present · International

Tags: Fitness, Flutter, NestJS, MongoDB, AI assistant, White-label

Bohemian Gym is a training app for athletes and gyms. Athletes build their own routines, and the app conducts the session itself (combat rounds, an audio-ducked rest bell, session recovery, retroactive RPE) and turns the history into progressive-overload recommendations. Gyms get white-label builds, custom roles and a coach-athlete workflow. It ships as 5 Flutter flavors (athlete, trainer, manager, consumer, console) over a shared offline-first core, backed by a NestJS 11 + MongoDB API with a Gemini assistant.

Highlights:

- **Training app built for execution**: Built a training operations app focused on real execution, not just static workout templates.
  - Keywords: Flutter, Fitness
- **Routine builder with supersets**: Implemented routine builder flows with blocks, supersets, rest timers, and per-session progression tracking.
  - Keywords: Flutter, Cubit
- **Offline-first training history**: Designed offline-first behavior so athletes can train without connectivity and keep reliable local history.
  - Keywords: ObjectBox, Offline-first
- **QR routine sharing**: Enabled coach-athlete collaboration through QR-based routine sharing and versioned import/export.
  - Keywords: QR, Import / export
- **Active session recovery**: Added active session recovery and notification-driven continuity for uninterrupted training flow.
  - Keywords: Notifications, Session recovery
- **NestJS API with a Gemini assistant**: Built the NestJS + MongoDB API with a Gemini assistant, Google sign-in and OpenTelemetry.
  - Keywords: NestJS, MongoDB, Gemini, OpenTelemetry
- **App drivable by an AI agent**: Made the app drivable by an AI agent: a Marionette binding in debug builds and a config that teaches the driver the design-system buttons, so Claude Code taps, types and reads the screens over MCP.
  - Keywords: Marionette, MCP, Claude Code
- **Performance by design**: Designed for performance from the first screen: widgets as classes with no Widget-returning helper methods, 40 scoped rebuilds (buildWhen, BlocSelector, select) and local data in ObjectBox across 30 Cubits.
  - Keywords: Flutter, BlocSelector, ObjectBox

Details:

- **App-conducted workout sessions**: Differentiates Bohemian Gym from log-after-the-fact competitors (Strong, Hevy, Jefit) by conducting the workout session itself: combat rounds with rest timer, background bell with audio ducking, and PendingSet model for in-progress tracking.
  - Impact: Real-time session execution as the product moat vs Excel-with-UI competitors
  - Keywords: Rest timer, Audio, Flutter
- **No data lost on interruption**: Recovers interrupted training sessions through cubit snapshot and restoreFromSnapshot, so an interrupted session does not lose data and the user can pick up where they left off.
  - Impact: Zero-data-loss continuity on phone interrupt, background or crash
  - Keywords: Cubit, Snapshot
- **Five flavors, white-label per gym**: Serves 5 flavors (athlete, trainer, manager, consumer and console) from one Flutter monorepo, with white-label builds per gym (gym slug mapped to applicationId / bundle id) and custom roles each gym defines through role bindings and app audiences.
  - Impact: 5 flavors from 1 codebase with per-gym white-label builds
  - Keywords: Flavors, White-label, Multi-tenant
- **Coach-athlete invite workflow**: Enables coach-athlete collaboration through invite codes and assignment flow (accept, reject, revoke, pending), routine assignment dashboard, and shared gym exercise and system library.
  - Impact: Coach-athlete workflow shipped on invite codes
  - Keywords: Invite codes, Coaching
- **Hardened auth and sync**: Hardens authentication and data sync for production through client-side password hashing, refresh rotation with reuse detection, snapshot backup, drift detection, and conflict-resolution UI.
  - Impact: Production-grade security and offline-resilient sync v2
  - Keywords: Refresh rotation, Conflict resolution, Security
- **Hardened in-app AI assistant**: Embeds an in-app AI assistant on Gemini (Assistant v2) with polymorphic chat, budget controls, and prompt-injection hardening across 7 defense layers (0% ASR on Spikee benchmark baseline).
  - Impact: Hardened in-product AI assistant with verified 0% attack success rate
  - Keywords: Gemini, Prompt injection
- **Progressive-overload engine**: Drives real strength progress through progressive-overload intelligence: tracks lift metrics across sessions and recommends weight / rep adjustments based on volume and intensity history, instead of leaving the athlete to guess.
  - Impact: Progressive-overload engine differentiates from logging-only apps
  - Keywords: Progression, Analytics
- **NestJS 11 API on MongoDB**: Built the NestJS 11 + MongoDB (Mongoose) API: JWT and Google sign-in, throttling, Swagger, OpenTelemetry tracing, and a Gemini assistant that streams over SSE with fallback models and a token budget. It deploys as a Docker image to bohemian.accentio.dev through Statio, my own deploy tool.
  - Impact: 13 feature modules, 45 spec files with about 470 Jest cases, plus integration tests on Supertest and mongodb-memory-server
  - Keywords: NestJS, MongoDB, SSE, Jest
- **Marionette across all five flavors**: Wired a Marionette binding into debug builds of all 5 flavors, tree-shaken from release, plus a config that teaches the driver the design-system components, so an MCP agent reads each button's label instead of an empty node.
  - Impact: An MCP agent drives all 5 flavors in debug builds
  - Keywords: Marionette, MCP
- **Code guide locked by tests**: Wrote the project's code guide (a 2,300-line CLAUDE.md) and locked it with 20 architecture tests, such as design-system import purity and the console import graph.
  - Impact: 20 architecture guard tests run with the suite
  - Keywords: CLAUDE.md, Architecture tests
- **CI to Firebase App Distribution**: Ships the app through GitHub Actions and Fastlane to Firebase App Distribution, with the signing key pulled from GCP Secret Manager over OIDC and the APK signer checked in the pipeline.
  - Impact: About 1,360 Flutter test cases across 158 files
  - Keywords: GitHub Actions, Fastlane, OIDC

Key results:

- 5 Flutter flavors (athlete, trainer, manager, consumer, console) from one monorepo, ObjectBox offline-first persistence, white-label builds per gym
- Audio ducking + bell + session-recovery + retroactive RPE / fatigue tracking deliver coach-during-the-set vs log-after-the-fact
- AI assistant v2 hardened with 7-layer prompt-injection defense, 0% ASR on Spikee benchmark
- Progressive-overload intelligence drives real gym progress, not just session logging
- NestJS 11 + MongoDB API with a Gemini assistant, OpenTelemetry and Docker deploys; about 1,800 automated tests across app and API

Stack: Flutter, Dart, BLoC / Cubit, ObjectBox, go_router, Dio, Freezed, NestJS, MongoDB, Mongoose, JWT, Google Sign-In, Gemini API, OpenTelemetry, Docker, GitHub Actions, Fastlane, Firebase App Distribution, White-label, Multi-tenant

### GKONE · GK One Identity

Client Project · 2021 – Present (In progress) · Jamaica

Tags: Banking, Identity / SSO, React, Next.js, .NET 10, Flutter

GKONE is the production banking platform of a Jamaican bank. Since 2021 I have shipped features across its mobile app, web apps, microservices and identity, first through The Bridge Social and then directly through Accentio Studios after the bank chose to retain me. My largest piece is GK One Identity (GKID): the bank's own OAuth 2.1 / OpenID Connect layer in front of Microsoft Entra External ID. It gives every GK One app and approved partner one customer account, single sign-on, consent and revocable grants. I built its React web front end, its admin screens, its .NET 10 authorization server and its mobile entry points: the Entra ID sign-in and the GK ID app launcher.

Highlights:

- **GKID web login in React**: Built the web front end of GK One Identity (GKID), the bank's single sign-on, in Next.js 15 + React 19 + TypeScript: sign-in, sign-up, password reset, consent and account picker across 20 auth steps.
  - Keywords: Next.js 15, React 19, TypeScript
- **Self-service account portal**: Built the self-service account portal in React, where customers revoke connected apps, end sessions per browser and review their registered devices.
  - Keywords: React, Sessions
- **GK Identity admin**: Built the GK Identity admin in Next.js + React + MUI: an app-registration wizard that retries from the failed step, client secrets, scopes, consent policy and per-app single sign-on.
  - Keywords: Next.js, MUI
- **OAuth 2.1 server in .NET 10**: Wrote the bank's OAuth 2.1 / OpenID Connect authorization server in .NET 10: authorization code with PKCE, refresh-token and RS256 key rotation, discovery, userinfo and introspection, covered by 1,346 xUnit cases.
  - Keywords: .NET 10, OAuth 2.1, OIDC, xUnit
- **GK ID app launcher**: Built the GK ID app launcher across three codebases: the Flutter app mints a one-time code, the .NET IAM redeems it and the Next.js login opens the target app signed in.
  - Keywords: Flutter, .NET, Next.js
- **B2C to Entra External ID**: Migrated customer identity from Azure AD B2C to Microsoft Entra External ID across the Flutter app, the web apps and third-party integrations, moving each account at its next sign-in.
  - Keywords: Azure AD B2C, Entra External ID
- **Flutter banking app since 2021**: Built the Flutter app's Entra ID sign-in with biometrics and root detection, Home V2, phone top-up and account management, with 1,600+ commits since 2021.
  - Keywords: Flutter, Entra ID, Biometrics

Details:

- **GKID web login**: Built the GKID web login in Next.js 15 (App Router) + React 19 + TypeScript, with Zustand, react-hook-form and Zod over Microsoft Entra's native auth APIs: sign-in, sign-up, password reset, email OTP, consent, account picker, silent SSO and session transfer from the mobile app. Moved it from a Vite single-page app to Next.js.
  - Impact: 224 of the repo's 229 commits; 20 auth steps, 96 unit test files with 1,122 cases (Vitest + Testing Library) and 6 Playwright e2e specs
  - Keywords: Next.js 15, React 19, Zustand, Zod
- **Tokens kept off the browser**: Kept every token off the browser: 13 Next.js route handlers work as a backend-for-frontend, the session lives in an HttpOnly __Host- cookie, and same-origin and Fetch Metadata checks block cross-site requests.
  - Impact: No tokens in browser storage; one Docker image promoted from Dev to Prod, with Azure App Configuration loaded at boot
  - Keywords: BFF, Cookies, CSRF
- **Self-service account portal**: Built the self-service account portal in React: customers see the apps they connected, revoke them, end sessions per browser or everywhere, and review their registered devices.
  - Impact: 4 account pages, shipped through Azure Pipelines (Dev, QA, UAT, Prod) with Docker and SonarQube
  - Keywords: React, Azure Pipelines, Docker
- **GK Identity admin section**: Built the GK Identity section of the bank's admin portal in Next.js + React + MUI: a wizard that provisions the Entra app and its service principal in 6 stages and retries from the failed one, client secret generation and revocation, scopes, consent policy, per-app single sign-on and API resources.
  - Impact: Bank staff register a new partner app from one wizard; Alvaro wrote all 5,272 lines of the section
  - Keywords: Next.js, MUI, Entra ID
- **Mobile app content admin**: Built the admin screens that run the mobile app's home: service menu items and promotions per tenant, with copy or move between tenants and bulk disable and delete.
  - Impact: About 6,700 lines built end to end; top contributor to the portal with about 60% of its code
  - Keywords: Next.js, MUI, Multi-tenant
- **OAuth 2.1 / OIDC authorization server**: Wrote the GK One Identity authorization server in .NET 10 (/oauth2/v1): authorization code with PKCE S256, refresh-token rotation with reuse detection, RS256 JWKS with key rotation, discovery, userinfo, introspection, resource indicators (RFC 8707) and RP-initiated logout. Hardened it with 8 rate-limit policies and refresh and session tokens stored as SHA-256 hashes.
  - Impact: 3 controllers with 56 endpoints (OAuth2, Entra admin, identity conflicts), 108 xUnit test files with 1,346 cases, and 155 of the 156 commits on the OAuth code
  - Keywords: .NET 10, PKCE, JWKS, Rate limiting
- **End-to-end GK ID launcher**: Built the GK ID app launcher end to end: the Flutter app mints a one-time session-transfer code, the IAM redeems it and the web login opens the target app signed in, with no second sign-in.
  - Impact: One feature shipped across the Flutter app, the .NET IAM and the Next.js login
  - Keywords: Flutter, .NET, Next.js, SSO
- **B2C to Entra migration**: Migrated customer identity from Azure AD B2C to Microsoft Entra External ID across the Flutter app, the bank's web apps and third-party integrations: each account moves at its next sign-in with JWKS validation, and a batch endpoint moves the rest.
  - Impact: End-to-end identity migration across mobile, web and partner integrations
  - Keywords: Azure AD B2C, Entra External ID, JWKS
- **Identity conflict resolution**: Built identity conflict resolution: the system detects duplicated customers and routes each case through maker-checker approval in the admin portal. A merge orchestrator with pre-flight checks, a Cosmos DB snapshot and rollback runs the approved merge from an Azure Service Bus queue and kicks the old sessions.
  - Impact: Detection, merge, admin screens and the mobile flow built end to end
  - Keywords: Maker-checker, Cosmos DB, Azure Service Bus
- **Diátaxis documentation**: Documented GK One Identity in 26 documents organized by Diátaxis: tutorials, how-to guides, reference and explanation.
  - Impact: 26 documents, 62 of 62 commits
  - Keywords: Diátaxis, Docs
- **Entra ID sign-in in Flutter**: Built the Flutter app's Microsoft Entra ID sign-in and sign-up (biometric enablement, social login behind a feature flag, root and jailbreak detection) and most of Home V2, account management, phone top-up and transaction history, plus API changes in the core, remittance and wallet microservices.
  - Impact: 1,600+ commits since 2021; wrote the 51-file Entra ID module in full, 82% of Home V2 and 75% of account management
  - Keywords: Flutter, Entra ID, Biometrics
